Use This 30-Second Trick Daily For A Happier Deployment
Have you ever wondered how to be more energetic, in good spirits, and have an overall happier deployment? I’ve found something that is completely natural, free, and available 24-7 to use for a little happiness boost when your loved one is gone. And it takes less than 30 seconds!
And yes, you will probably say this is SO cheesy. But who cares, if it works, right?
So what’s the trick?
Let me tell you a story…
When I was in high school, I had to get up fairly early for school. And let me tell you, I am not a morning person. I was grouchy. I was groggy. I wanted to stay in bed and not face the world. But somewhere along the way, I learned this trick and it started off my day on a much better note than my grumpy state would have.
Each morning, after dragging myself into the bathroom, I would smile at myself in the mirror. And I would proceed to have a much happier day than if I hadn’t smiled at myself.
To this day, if I’m having a rough morning, or a hard day during deployment, I’ll smile at myself in the mirror and I start to feel happier.
How does that work?
When you smile, your body releases endorphins. You know, that happy feeling inside that gives you a lift in your spirit?
However, when you smile at yourself in the mirror, not only are you getting endorphins from the act of smiling, you’re getting them from the person smiling at you too— yes, it’s you in the mirror.
Try it and see.
You will probably feel dumb at first. I did. But hey, you’re the only one who sees you.
Smiling at yourself in the mirror can give your spirits the tiny lift you need… the lift that can get you up and dressed, checking off something on your to-do list, calling a friend for a much-needed chat, or even just giving you the energy you need to fix a healthy meal.
Take 30 seconds every morning and smile at yourself in the mirror… and enjoy a happier day and happier deployment because of it!
