Moving Update

Hi there! I’m taking a break from my “Military Spouse Basic Training” series to bring you this brief update on our moving and my painting project.

Whew we are exhausted! We usually don’t move ourselves (we let the Navy handle that) but since we chose to move across town, it’s on us this time. We’re getting help with the big stuff, but mostly it means many trips down the freeway to haul load after load after… you get the idea!

I took on a painting project too… kind of ambitious b/c it’s not like I have anything else going… LOL. But hey I wanted to get it done before the furniture arrives. I posted a bit about it on my Facebook page, so you can catch up on the discussion here.

Here are a few pics of the progress:

All taped and ready to go! I was not a fan of this yellow, so I decided to change it up. But what color to choose...?

I painted it grey... but then I didn't like the shade!=( It didn't go with the green in the kitchen. Boo!

So... I tried three colors that were a warmer tone. An off-white, a warm grey tone, and the same color as the kitchen... so which did I choose???

I went with the GREEN! I could tell I liked it right away, even though I'd just done the trim. By the way... wood paneling is a BEAST to paint! Not my most fun painting job ever...

BUT! Now it's done and I love it!

Last pic... It really looks nice against the wood, I think. So glad to be done!
